Memo(s)

Brian Trippett is a highly successful former racing cyclist best known for his results with the Ovaltine team and his 2nd place finish at the Lincoln Grand Prix as an Independent in 1960.

Born and raised in Sheffield, Trippett was a central figure in the Yorkshire cycling community throughout the 1950s; he was a good friend of Tommy Simpson and was twice invited to represent Great Britain at the Tour de France.

After retiring to raise his family, he later moved to St Albans and re-entered the racing scene alongside his son Chris, reaching First Category status as a Vet.

Brian still lives in Hertfordshire with his wife Shirley, and continues to follow the professional cycling closely. He has three children and five grandchildren - including Laura, who can ride a bike with clip-in pedals. In 2018 he celebrated his 60th wedding anniversary and welcomed his first great-grandchild, Scarlett.

His younger brother Malcolm is also a keen cyclist who can still be found riding the hills of the Peak District most days.
